Grab your Umbrella! Rain is on the Way

April showers got you down? Don’t fret; we’ve got some Rain that will do just the opposite. In 40 cheerful colors, this brand-new basic adds a big splash of fun – whether it’s sewn up on its own, or as a blender in a print collection (like in Alice Kennedy‘s new Matilda collection, or our new Woodstock group, for example)!

Some colors have already begun hitting stores, and the full range will start shipping in May. Make sure to request this collection at your local quilt shop!

Once you pick out your favorite colors, here’s an idea for your first Rain-y day project: a fab sewing machine cover! Timeless staff member Hayden used the Cover-Up pattern by Empty Bobbin Sewing Studio to make hers. The pattern gives options for three different cover styles, and is customizable to fit any machine. (And who said that only sewing machines get to have all the fun? With custom sizing and three style options, this pattern goes a long way. Next on Hayden’s list: a KitchenAid mixer cover!)

The version pictured below uses Rain-C1480 Turquoise as the main color, White for the accents, and Lemon, Poppy, Lime, Petal, and Cheddar in the pieced panel. The lining color is Black.

What would you make with Rain? Would you sew entire projects out of it, like Hayden did, or blend it with other prints?

Have a great weekend, and happy sewing!

I love this collection.. It is bright and cheery.. I just purchased the lime and cheddar last week for some quilts that I will be making. This makes a great blender or beautiful as a group of all of the colors. It will also make cute summer outfits for the grandchildren… . Lots of ideas:)

I think they will make great blenders but will work well on their own. I look forward to sewing with this line.

I already subscribe to Quiltmaker magazine but I really enjoy seeing everything on here and in the 100 bloc tour too. Oh yes, I would love to win a free one because I can’t find it in the store in my little town.

Keep up the good work-I love it.

I love the rain colors. I took a basic quilting class last fall because my daughter quilts. I was instantly addicted. Now my only problem is finding a way to afford material on my social security income.

I love the bright “rain drops” and would use them to make quilt for kids or shelter quilts for kids locally. I do think I would mix the rain drops in with others to brighten a quilt and diffently for a backing on quilts.

Pretty! I would use them as a blender with other fabrics. i can see using them as the background for one of the previous Project Linus quilts. The one with the hot air balloons or the kites. I will have to see if I can find some of these.

Fun print! I love how she combined them, but that white print would make a cute girl’s sundress.
