QuiltCon Wrap-Up!

We had a great time at QuiltCon last week in Austin! As sponsor of the Modern Traditionalism category of the juried show, we loved seeing all the unique interpretations of the theme. And we were so happy to see that the Best in Show quilt by Victoria Findlay Wolfe had been selected from this awe-inspiring category.

There were so many beautiful quilts that it was overwhelming – it’s impossible to pick a favorite, but here are just some that we had the pleasure of seeing!

Would love a copy of the magazine. I know some little “teddy” lovers who would be thrilled with a Corduroy bear quilt.

I could have used several snow-y day projects (sewing machine covers,etc.). We received 50+ inches in April 2013 which was more than we received the whole winter in 2011-2012. Talk about needing sewing projects and those beautiful fabrics on all of the quilts.

Went to the Austin show and was quite impressed with Best of Show. Not only the making of the quilt but also the quilting! Looking forward to the next one.
I find I am in the middle, between traditional and modern when it comes to quilts. This gave me an idea for more freedom in making of quilts.
    Thank you!

I’m just brand new in the quilt-making world. I’m in 7th Heaven looking at everything available in Timeless Treasures, especially Chong-a Hwang’s collection.

I have NEVER did this blog before … so I hope I am doing it right. I would love a chance to win the 100 Blocks Blog Tour! The samples posted are all so beautiful and so creative. There are sure a lot of talented people with creative ideas.

I love all the crappy fabrics together. Most of my quilting and sewing is for charity now so I resort to making scrap laprobes. We also make “Bears” for the children’s surgery (outpatient) unit for one of our hospital. The quilts shown gave me good ideas!
