We’ve got the spotlight on Jessica VanDenburgh of Sew Many Creations today! We just love her patterns, which you can find at these shops or on the Sew Many Creations website. A life-long sewing and quilting addict, Jessica started her pattern business in 2011, offering easy-to-follow bag patterns with the quilter in mind. Quilt patterns soon followed.
Jessica’s booth was around the corner from ours at Quilt Market, and it was chock full of Timeless basics like Polka Dot, Pin Dot, and Sketch, not to mention our sister company Dear Stella‘s Confetti Dot and Zig Zag! Daniela Stouts‘s latest batik collection, Tonga Zen, was also on display in Jessica’s new Flip Flop pattern.
We caught up with Jessica at Market to chat about her new Pathways Ruler for curved piecing. The Pathways Ruler is a multi-sized Drunkard’s Path ruler that makes 3 1/2″, 5″ and 7″ finished Drunkard’s Path (or quarter circle) blocks. It works with a standard 45 mm rotaty cutter, and is easier and more accurate to use than templates. The Pathways Ruler is also a square up ruler; it has 1″ increments down two sides, and 1/2″ increments down the other two sides. (Pre-order the Pathways Ruler here – it starts shipping at the end of this month, which is any minute now!)
We filmed a little demo of Jessica showing it off (fabric used in the clip is Hatch Basic).
Jessica loves using Timeless Basics in her patterns. She told us, “Basic doesn’t have to mean boring. I am in love with polka dots and was so excited that Timeless was introducing not one but two dot collections! I love mixing them together and I thought they blended so nicely with Sketch… I thought the dots went nicely with the curved piecing as well.”
